The property is minutes from the bottom of the Schuss Mountain lifts (or a few minutes walk to the top). We are also right next door to the World Class golf courses that made this area famous. Valley View Lodge is truly one-of-a-kind. As with most of the properties in the Shanty Creek area, partial heating is by electric baseboard, and many of the rooms have their own independent thermostats which can be set individually as desired. Wifi is provided throughout the house.
The Bellaire area offers access to hundreds of attractions. Shanty Creek boasts four championship golf courses: Cedar River (Weiskopf), The Legend (Palmer), Schuss Mountain Course, and Summit Course. In addition, other excellent courses are conveniently located nearby. Take a short trip to Lake Bellaire, Torch Lake, or Grand Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan for swimming or boating, or enjoy a nice, relaxing canoe ride down the Jordan river.

Rental Policy
CANCELLATIONS – If cancellation is done at least 30 days before date of arrival, deposits will be refunded. Cancellations made within 15-30 days of arrival will result in a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 15 days prior to stay are non-refundable. Because of the unpredictability of the weather, we cannot issue refunds for poor trail conditions, bad weather, etc.
SMOKING - This is a NON SMOKING / NO VAPING vacation rental property. Guests understand that smoking / vaping in the house is not permitted. If this rule is violated and smoking or vaping has been detected in the house, an additional $175 penalty will be assessed and the security deposit will be forfeited. If you do smoke outside, please put cigarette butts in the trash, not on the ground in the yard.
CHECK IN / CHECK OUT: Check in time is 4PM. Check out time is 11AM.
PETS - Your pets are allowed in the house with prior approval. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up any/all pet refuse, and - please - pets are not allowed on furniture at any time. Any evidence of pets on furniture will incur extra cleaning fees.
AGE - The guest signing this agreement must be at least 25 years of age.
"GOOD NEIGHBOR" POLICY - We want you to have a ton of fun up here, but we need to respect our neighbors’ ability to do the same thing. Therefore, we have a strict “good neighbor policy”. If we receive a complaint regarding excessive noise or inappropriate behavior, we will have to ask you and your group to leave the premises. Please let's work together to make sure everyone has a GREAT time up here!
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY – The maximum number of guests is limited to twelve (12) persons, unless other arrangements are made.
THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES ARE EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED ON THE PROPERTY: USE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS, USE OF FIREARMS, AND USE OF FIREWORKS OF ANY KIND. IF YOU ARE FOUND TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THESE RULES, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE WITH NO MONEY REFUNDED.
