Description
Trails End Cabin is a newer cabin rental located 20 min south of Lewiston, MI, and 10 min west of Mio, MI. We're 3 minutes from the famous Au Sable river in the heart of the Huron National Forest....
Situated on 10 acres, this cottage adjoins thousands of heavily wooded national forest and offer lots of room, but lots of privacy. You'll enjoy all the comforts of home - in the middle of the woods. This is an ATV riders' paradise with hundreds of miles of marked trails. In fact, you can ride from the front door of Trail's End Cabin right to the trail system and be gone for the rest of the day!
For the canoeing and tubing crowd, it's only a 3 minute drive to one of the many local canoe liveries. And if you're here for fly fishing, there's plenty of places to put in and wade the beautiful, blue ribbon Au Sable river (accessible in Mio & Luzerne).
Our vacation home is equipped with everything you’ll need for your stay (just bring food, drinks, bug spray, sunscreen, etc). The cabin is open and roomy, with tons of windows looking out over the woods. Outside there’s plenty of room for the kids to play in the front yard while the adults sit around the firepit (or relax on the screen porch) and re-connect with each other.
Kitchen / Dining / Living Room
The kitchen is open to the rest of the living space on the first floor. It is fully equipped with all cooking and eating utensils, pots & pans, etc. Also included: refrigerator, oven/range, microwave, drip coffee maker, 4 slot toaster, crock pot & electric skillet. There is seating for 6 in the dining area, and the living room is equipped with a new wood stove. There is no cable or wireless internet service out this far (but who needs those up here?! :)) Cell phone service works fine, depending on your provider.
Bedrooms
The first floor bedroom has a queen bed. The bedroom upstairs has a double bed, and two single beds. The open loft upstairs has a fold-out futon, a TV and an old-school Atari gaming system with lots of games (if your kids haven't played Atari before, you're going to have a hard time getting them of it!). All sheets, pillows and blankets are provided
Bathrooms / Laundry
This vacation rental offers a full bath on the first floor with a tub/shower. Upstairs is a half bath. All towels are provided. There's a mudroom / laundry room with a washer and dryer and storage for coats, boots, etc.
Outside
The cabin has a VERY popular screen porch with a pull out bed, chairs and a cool retro fridge. The front yard is treed, with a large firepit with plenty of seating for all (several Adirondack chairs provided). There's a picnic table, barbecue grill (propane), yard games like cornhole and horseshoes, and of course - a hammock. There are onsite trails throughout the property for hiking & ATV riding
Rental Policy - Trail's End Cabin Vacation Home
CHECK IN - Check in time is 3:00PM, EST. Check out is 12:00PM.
PAYMENT - 50% of the rental total is
/ check / money order within 10 days of when the reservation is booked. The remainder is due 15 days prior to arrival. due

CANCELLATIONS – If cancellation is done at least 30 days
beforedate of arrival, deposits will be refunded. Cancellations made within 15-30 days of arrival will result in a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 15 days prior to stay are non-refundable. Because of the unpredictability of the weather, we cannot issue refunds for poor trail conditions, bad weather, etc.
SMOKING - This is a NON SMOKING vacation property. Guests understand that smoking in the cottage or on the porch is not permitted. If this rule is violated and smoking has been detected in the home, an additional $175 penalty will be assessed and the security deposit will be forfeited. If you do smoke outside, please put cigarette butts in the trash or firepit, not on the ground in the yard.
PETS - We understand that pets are a part of your family, and they are allowed at the cabin with prior authorization. This is subject to the following:
- A $60 non-refundable “Pet Fee” will apply, per pet, to each reservation that includes a dog or cat. There is a maximum of two animals for any reservation. The pet fee covers the cleaning of the home, not damages. Should the pet cause damage to the home, additional charges will apply.
- We accept dogs weighing under 50 pounds and at least 1 year old. Visiting pets are not allowed.
- Pets are not allowed on any furniture, beds, sofas, tables, counters tops, baths, showers, etc. Please bring your pet’s favorite blanket or bed. Pet owners are responsible for properly cleaning up and disposing of any and all pet droppings.
AGE - The guest signing this agreement must be at least 25 years of age. Proof of age may be required to confirm your reservation, a copy of your state ID is sufficient.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY – The maximum number of guests is limited to six (8) persons, unless other arrangements are made.
FEES Taxes and housekeeping fees are in addition to the base rental rate. There is a non-refundable cleaning fee of $75.00 added to all reservations.
THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES ARE EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED ON THE PROPERTY: USE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS, USE OF FIREARMS, AND USE OF FIREWORKS OF ANY KIND. IF YOU ARE FOUND TO BE IN VIOLATION OF THESE RULES, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE WITH NO MONEY REFUNDED.
