The closest grocery shopping is in Petoskey at the D & W supermarket. It’s about a 10-minute drive and has a great selection and layout, with a nice deli / fresh made section. Grocery shopping in Harbor Springs is pretty limited, but Harbor Springs Market is a great place with an old-timey vibe and outstanding selection of beer and spirits. Whiskey, Scotch, Gin, etc fans will want to try the Toski-Sands Market in Harbor Springs, only 5 minutes away. About the best selection that we've seen.

Teddy Griffin's, Harbor Springs: Long time local favorite restaurant / bar known for their friendly staff and excellent pizza. Great bar atmosphere and selection. It gets crowded here, and it's a bit on the pricey side, but it's a "must-visit" after a day on the slopes or golf course. Hours can be a little finicky.

Vernales, Harbor Springs: Outstanding atmosphere, and really good dinner menu. Beautiful outdoor seating space and only a 5 minute drive. Again, on the spendy side, but worth the trip just for the "feel" of the place.
-
Side Door Saloon, Petoskey: Sports centered, with a cozy rustic feel - great drink selections, and very good pub style food.
-
State Rd Provisions, Harbor Springs: One of our favorites - friendly bar atmosphere with tons of outdoor space in the back. Very good pizza and other bar fare, and they are open after most other area restaurants close. 😊
-
Gypsy Distillery, Petoskey: What was once a former equestrian center has been turned into a state of the art distillery, craft spirits tasting room, cocktail garden, and more. Sit on the hill overlooking Little Traverse Bay with friends and a craft cocktail!
-
Legs Inn, Cross Village: We can say this much - you've never seen a place like Legs Inn! With some of the best Polish food you've ever had and a gorgeous spot on the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, Legs is not to be missed. From the eclectic hand built driftwood accents, to the expansive terrace overlooking the lake, its worth the 25 minute trip up to historic Cross Village.
-
Northern Lights Recreation, Petoskey: A true local favorite in Harbor Springs—an inviting spot where residents gather for laid-back fun, far from the tourist crowds. Whether you're bowling, battling it out in the VR room, enjoying the arcade, or eating excellent food in the lounge, it's the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff are friendly, and it feels like a community hub more than a commercial venue. If you're looking for something cozy and authentic whether or not the weather turns, this place delivers.
-
Petoskey Brewing, Petoskey: More than just a great place for a pint—it's a piece of Michigan history. Housed in a striking 115-year-old building with 26-inch-thick stone walls that give it a castle-like feel, the atmosphere is as memorable as the beer. The blend of old-world architecture and modern brewing makes every visit feel special. Whether you're a craft beer enthusiast or just soaking in the local flavor, Petoskey Brewing offers a unique experience that’s both timeless and refreshing.

Crooked Tree Breadworks, Petoskey: You'll find giant cookies, yummy muffins, fresh baked loaves of bread and lots more. They also have pre-made sandwiches, cheese dips and packaged nuts.
-
Johan's Pastry Shop, Petoskey: The best donuts, cinnamon rolls, cakes and cookies. You won't be disappointed.
