Fireplace

The electric fireplace in the main living area is controlled by the remote control.  There are specific instructions on it's use on a card by the fireplace.

Outdoor Firepit

​We try to have some firewood available for the fire pit, but wood deliveries have been hit and miss over the past couple of years.  There is plenty of smaller, fallen wood in the woods around the property if you'd like to gather some.  Also, local gas stations sell bundles of firewood for a few dollars.   Please use care and keep the fire at a reasonable size.  ***PLEASE don’t leave cigarette butts in the firepit***

TVs, Bluetooth & Gaming

​​All of the TVs are Roku smart TVs. There are instructions on how to run apps or just watch cable upstairs and downstairs. Instructions for the tabletop video game are located downstairs next to the game.  Please do not put food or drinks on the glass.

​​We have high speed Spectrum internet for your streaming/browsing use:

Kitchen & Bath

The coffee maker has 2 options - you can make a full pot of coffee, or single serving using k-cups.  In additon to all bowls, pots, pans etc for cooking, we also supply the following:

- electric skillet

- electric frypan

- crock pot

- cutting boards

- cake pans

- collander

- large stock pot

- blender

- cookie sheets

- pizza pans

- casserole dishes

- 4 slice toaster

 

Note there is also a refrigerator for your use in the lower rec room area.

Grill

There is a propane grill on the deck for your use. We try to keep propane tanks filled but if tanks run out, you can exchange the tanks at Mancelona hardware or several gas stations in Bellaire. If you should purchase a refill tank yourself, we will be happy to reimburse you for the cost. Please remember to get a receipt – thank you!

Sauna

Please feel free to use the sauna (awesome in the winter time!).  The sauna is electrically heated (instructions for its use are located on a card just inside the door).  It takes about 10-15 minutes to warm up when first used.  There is also a bucket and ladle if you'd like to add water to the stones on the heater (please do so SLOWLY and CAREFULLY).  Please use caution around the heater and no kids under 12 are allowed without supervision.  Kindly sit on a towel, and clean up when finished so the next users can enjoy a clean sauna experience :)

​Pets

Clean up after pets (both indoors and out) and PLEASE do not allow them on the beds or furniture.

Safety

There is a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink  The house smoke detectors are wired together, so if one should go off, they will all sound.

There are two permanently installed baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs on the main floor.

​​

Trash

​​There are two garbage cans provided in the shed at the street.  Please place ONLY BAGGED GARBAGE in these receptacles, and no more than the cans can fit.  If you have more garbage than can fit in the receptacles, please take it with you.  Garbage pick up day is Monday.

Other Items...

​Heating and Cooling: Central heating and A/C is controlled by the thermostat next to the stairs on the main level.  This is a touch screen thermostat and very easy to use - just touch the current temp and select a new temp.  You can also select heating or cooling mode depending on the season.  If you'd like to use the ceiling fans:  the main fan in the living/dining area is controlled by a wall switch in the corner by the dining room table.  Other fans in the bedrooms are also controlled by wall mounted remotes.

Outdoor Lighting:  You can control the deck lights and the outdoor landscape lights by the switches in the corner of the dining area.

 

A travel crib (Pack n Play) is also provided for your use.

 

Linens: Towels are provided, but please do not use towels as beach/pool towels.

IMPORTANT:  This area is very popular and there will be both permanent residents and guests in the surrounding houses.  We want you to have a ton of fun up here, but we need to respect our neighbors’ ability to do the same thing.  Therefore, we have a very strict “good neighbor policy” and NoiseAware sound decibel montioring devices installed at the property.  If we receive a complaint regarding excessive noise or inappropriate behavior, we may have to ask you and your group to leave the premises.  This almost NEVER happens, but everyone in this beautiful setting deserves to enjoy themselves, so please let’s work together! 😊
